“La Piccola Casa del Rifugio” is a historic nursing home in Milan that focuses on “people and their wellbeing” not only in terms of health, but it also helps patients to achieve their goals and desires.

The Institute consists of 2 buildings where the following services operate:

– A nursing home for the elderly with 279 available spots equipped for elders who are not self-sufficient
– A nursing home for disabled people with 92 spots
– A Day Care Center for the elderly for 30 people: daily assistance for elders associated with a compromised in self-sufficiency.

L'esigenza

The request is to adapt some hospital rooms, which were obsolete and not comfortable, to the new idea of domestic environment.

Solution

Thanks to its experience, CFS Italia designed new accommodation with natural wood finish in contrast with the brightness given by the color white. The common areas were then supplied with comfortable armchairs with solid wooden feet. A true contrast between modern and classic lines.
